Feeling much better! OOTD

Omg, what a difference two days of straight sleeping makes! I woke up feeling MUCH better today. Good thing too, because today is filled with a bunch of random stuff (dentist, vet appt) scheduled before our trip to CA this weekend for our dear friends' wedding!

As Cindi mentioned in the comments, it was beautiful and 70 degrees outside when I was sick. Now of course when I'm better.... it's raining again :) with a high of 63! Well, if it's going to be a soggy water ride outside, then I might as well dress for the occasion! (plus, I love any chance to get all nautical up in heeeyaaah!) omg I'm such a dork sorry!

I'm still working out how to best set my camera for indoor lighting with this mega-flash, so bear with me here :)

Having recently reviewed the Eze Sur Mer top - stripey ruched sleeve shirts were mighty salient when I was getting dressed. This H&M long sleeved version did the trick here, and set the nautical tone for today's outfit.

The shirt paired well with these oh-so-comfy grey JCrew cords! These pants are so soft and just great for those grey wet days we have around here!

OOTD Specs
Striped ruched H&M long sleeve tee by Divided sz 6 ($13)
Grey J Crew Corduroy pants sz 4S (thrifted $6)
Multi-strand red beaded necklace (thrifted $7)
Silver braided belt (thrifted 99 cents)
Franco Sarto boots ($15 at Ross)

I love your outfit! I think it's awesome that your personality shows through your pictures and posts, it's nice knowing how fun and goofy bloggers can be, instead of being serious all the time. (:

@Cindy thanks! I think outfit photos can be pretty fun if you let yourself play around with them (and you're a PERFECT example of that! I <3 your outfit photography!)

@Cindi thanks so much, and IKR? I walked to my dentist in my neighborhood and got nice and soggy :/

@Melanie thanks! I really enjoy reading your blog. I really like that you incorporate DIY pieces!

Very cute! I like how clean and "simple" it is. I'm glad you're feeling better, bummer about the rain though. Rocking a cute outfit is definitely a great solution to a rainy day! :)

Your smile tells all. And you look wonderful in horizontal stripes. The only stripes I can wear are the ones Anthro designers use to trick the eye. And I have recently learned that I can actually wear them after years of dislike. Love your cords. They look like they fit great. Every time I wear cords they stretch out and get baggy in the seat. Yuck!

Hey Lori,
Yay, you're feeling better. it's amazing what a bit of sleep can do for you!
You can't go wrong with a navy and white striped nautical top, and you paired it really well. i am especially digging that red necklace. I need one myself!
Cheers

@Matt Thanks! I feel that way about rainy days too. and sad days. and well, lol EVERYDAY!! hehe

@Laura I think a lot of people can actually handle stripes, I just think we were told early on that stripes can make people look wider. But you're so skinny! You could totally do stripes too!

@Jen Thanks! I thought the red was def needed to punch up the outfit.

@Carrie thanks! But man you have some beauuuutiful clothes! I'm totally loving that flower vender shirt since seeing it on your blog!

cute outfit! LOVE the fit of those cords... I really wish I could find a pair of slim pants that fit like that.... and i've been wanting a striped top for a long time now, since my last one died after 4 wears, I have had a hard time coughing up the $ for another, no matter how cheap lol.

@Meli22 Thanks! Sometime I'll try to remember to look inside the cords to see what fit they were at jcrew so other people can try them. But it is nice to have comfy cords that fit well. And omg, your striped shirt kicked it after 4 wears? How horrible! Was it from H&M cuz that so wouldn't surprise me. Hopefully this one will last me for more than four wears...
