Cult 45 bookhop

knitting

This is quite possibly one of the most amusing knit a longs. It's the Fry Along hosted by sheep in the city. You knit this:

the pattern is here

It's so wacky. What do y'all think, should I join it?

I didn't get a chance to post this before I left, but look at what my Little Big Girls Secret Santa sent me for Christmas!

It's the CUTEST hello kitty knitting needle case! I absolutely LOVE it! It was also the perfect size for traveling, and it accompanied me to Houston with my knitting essentials for the week.

Thanks Secret Santa!

spinning
So I spun lots last night. I now have a skein of alpaca/shetland. That was a lot of fun to spin up! I think I may ply my Elvira hair skein today with some fun boucle yarn and beads.

Wally hasn't found a permanent location yet. He may go where the xmas tree is sitting, we'll see.

on sickness
Seeing how I have slept most of the two days I've been back, I'm feeling a lot better. I still have the whole head cold/sinus achey things, but to a much lower level. And I don't get as exhausted from moving about as I have in previous days. My appetite is coming back (yay for food!), and I may test out our crock pot today.

I even had the energy to pack Christmas away in two whole boxes that are now waiting to be escorted to the garage!

Asha
she was really really whiney when we got back. She wouldn't stop meowing. I think she saved them all up from when we were gone. She has returned to her normal meow-at-feeding-times self, and has taken up permanent residence on my lap.

She's become quite a good theif. While ervy was setting up my spinning wheel, she snuck away with the string that goes around the wheel. Neither of us saw her do it, but we found the string under the bed.

Wally is awesome. What a great gift!

I say go for the tacky knitalong. That would make a perfect white elephant gift for next Christmas!

Wow, the Fry Along is either very clever or a total crime. Who can tell? I love the purse, but the hat might be.. Too Much? Maybe?

Anyway, if you are the Lori who posted a comment on my blog, I really hope you will find a knitting group. There's a Redwood City Stitch-n-Bitch group and Knitting Meetup group for San Mateo county. I'd love to go visit these two. There's also a weekly knitting group that meets on Tuesdays at 7 pm at Torrefazione Italia University Ave in PA - I think the organizer is Elspeth. I've never been to that one either, but it would be fun to check them out. Lemme know if you are going and I'll try to come along, too!
