Moody Blues (and grays) OOTD

Looking at these pics I kinda made myself laugh. It's funny that on a day when Seattle is partly sunny, I decided to look like a moody rain cloud.

I wasn't sure about this Kensie top when I found it. It is certainly interesting - asymmetric hem, ruched sleeves, two fabric belts across the torso, and a very moody tie dyed fabric. But, I'm not really afraid of interesting. And, I decided that when I get overwhelmed with it, I can just throw a black blazer on over it. Then you can see bits of the moody fabric dipping below the blazer hem - providing interest w/o being too much.

OOTD Specs
Kensie tie-dyed tunic sz XS
(thrifted $4)
Lisa Skinny Jeans by Fire Jeans sz 5 (thrifted $7)
Kelsi Dagger black beaded flats ($30)
H&M multi-chain necklace ($12?)
H&M faux pearl strand necklace ($5)
H&M leather wrap bracelet ($5)
Wrapped grass bangles from Brazil (gifted)

oh yah, and I found out my dad did find my blog. He apparently left me some cryptic message by doing google searches to land on my page (haha dad, very funny). My stats didn't pick those searches up tho, so I have nooooo idea what he said.

and, I did get pie on Sunday! Yay for wish-granting husbands!

Haha I was expecting dark and stormy weather, and your picture is full of sunshine! That tunic is pretty cool, I can see why you decided to take it home with you. Mmm pie, I am glad you got some.

Your dad is so funny! i don't think my dad even knows how to use a computer...hehe
Just a question Lori, as you seem quite tech-savvy, how can i find out who has googled me or clicked onto my blog via some keywords on google?
Cheers!
Jen

I love all the Blues and Black on you. You wear it well. Like the beaded flats too.

Did you get a new Camera. Such gorgeous close-ups here I have never seen before. I spy a remote too.

This is super cute!! I love the tunic, and those flats are really cool! Great accessories too! I would say the outfit just has some edge, but maybe not a moody raincloud. But there is nothing wrong with moody rainclouds! Maybe the searches will show up eventually? Sometimes my stats seem to be behind on on things. And yay for pie! :)

Blue and black is very flattering. You look so cute. I guess you don't go completely black, it is not too gloomy.

we are having heatwave here. I am not complaining because I bought those second cut summer dresses and really want to have a chance to wear it. So I am enjoying the good weather right now

That's too funny that your dad found your blog. My whole family reads mine, so I have to be careful not to gossip!

Those Kelsi Dagger flats are so cute! I've been wanting to try the black patent ones with the red/pink rosettes, but am keeping fingers crossed for a sale.

And hooray for pie!

Your bright smile and the sunny outdoors makes that outfit just interesting and chic, not moody. ;o) I love those sparkly flats!

I remember when my Mom found out about my blog she goes "did you buy all those you have on your website?" and I had to give her the very long conversation of how I work my blog hh in MOM LANGUAGE! but then she liked what I was wearing after all, so I guess I have her approval whether I want it or not hehe

You are so good with mix and matching, I am not...so I mostly settle myself with one piece dress and a cardigan. I will need to challenge myself and do some layers and texture mix-ups and so.. and you really do inspire me everyday with these amazing outfits at such a thrifty budget!

You look amazing in this tunic Lori!! Look how teeny tiny your waist is! Perfectly styled to boot.

Although it's sunny out, but the leaves are falling and turning so your outfit fits right in. I love that tunic and the necklaces totally brings the fun out of it.

Your dad is so cute! I don't dare show my parents my blog but I think my sister-in-law and mother-in-law might read it!

I am the only one in this house that likes pie so I try to refrain from buying an entire pie, but sometimes I can't help myself!

I really like your shirt, it's interesting AND cute!

@Jess yah I'm so happy about the pie... and the sunshine! It's nice to get as much sun as I can before winter sets in :)

@Kristina Thanks! I emailed you, let me know if it didn't reach you!

@vintageglammz the pie is very tasty! You can find out your stats in multiple ways, but one way is through your dashboard in blogger. There's a link called 'stats' on Blogger's dashboard. From there, if you click on the 'traffic sources' tab at the top, it will show you some of the keywords that have led to landing on your blog. You can also install code from a third party that can track who is visiting your site. Google Analytics is one of them, but there are quite a few stats-type trackers out there.

@GeoInCalifornia Thanks so much! No new camera, but better lighting. I was pretty happy with how these pics turned out too!

@Matt hehe, I'm glad people are seeing this tunic as edgy rather than moody. I don't want to project moodiness generally :) Thanks for the tip on the stats, I'll keep checking.

@Inkmark I'm jealous of your heatwave! I want to wear more of my summer dresses too!

@Jamie the thing is, my dad totally knew about my blog when I started it, but he figured I had just stopped doing the blogging thing, lol. I'm actually not that concerned about him reading this, he's much more likely to learn stuff on fb than here :) These are my first Kelsi Dagger shoes. I'd never actually seen this brand before finding these at Nordy Rack last year. But they're so comfy, fun, and easy!

@Lisa good! You're totally right that a smile can go a long way in changing a look!

@LilMissSeamstress Your mom is too cute! It's good she likes what you wear. My mom sometimes likes what I wear... I actually think she'd mostly be mortified that I share so much of myself online. She's really private. She doesn't like that my dad posts status messages on fb at all!

@Cat thanks so much! I'm really glad this outfit turned out ok (and not as gloomy as I was worried about)

@Cindi that's cute that your MIL and SIL read your blog! But your blog is super cute w/ you and Chris, so I could see why they'd want to! My MIL is always worried about invading my privacy, so my guess is that even if she found it, she'd stay away from my blog, lol.

@Kristin Everyone should have pie!!

@spiffy really? How could people not like ANY kind of pie? Perhaps they just haven't met the RIGHT pie. You should keep buying them to keep them trying 'em ;)
