Inherited Purple OOTD

I've decided to try to wear purple as much as I can this week to show support for Cindi's effort to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer in honor of her father-in-law.

This dress is one of the two dresses I own that belonged to my mother when she was young. It has a white rope belt, but today I thought I'd try the dress with a wider brown belt.

oops, apparently I splashed something on the dress before taking pics - prob when I was washing dishes this morning.

It also paired well with this zebra cardigan I bought off Ebay. It was only $8 + $8 shipping from Hong Kong. The pattern is adorable, and it struck me as something I could easily see at Anthropologie. Perhaps called something cute like "Running Stripes Cardigan." Except this is no Anthro sweater. This sweater feels so cheap I think it will fall apart. Until it does, I'll wear it, because I still think it's so fun. I just want the fun to last longer!

I'm also LOVING these new HUE plaid tights I bought off ebay from that seller I mentioned a few posts back. I had no idea how much I'd like them until I put them on :) Now I've got all these big outfit plans for them!

Look! I chanced wearing some tiny heels today! Luckily, no ruptured tendons.

This faux pearl necklace ended up making a really nice bracelet today too!

This was the poopy part of my Sunday. I spent three hours at the Sears Auto Center getting new tires. This was after the third time they tried to fix the flat tire we bought from them a few years ago. Today we were told the tire was irreparable. We were also told putting on my new tires would only take an hour. NOPE!

OOTD specs
My mom's old purple dress
Ebay zebra cardigan sz XS
($15)
Seychelles brown pumps (thrifted $6)
H&M wide brown belt ($10?)
Hue tartan plaid tights (ebay $6.50)
H&M faux pearl strand necklace worn as a bracelet ($5)

OH MY GOSH those tights are amazing! Love the whole look and that is so cool that you have one of your mom's dresses. That is a shame of the sweater though, it looks super cute.

Goodness, how cute-quirky is your zebra cardi! Can't belive it was only $8! Love those Hue tights. I bought a few pairs of Hues when i was in the states. I wished I could have bought more!

Lori, That zebra sweater is so Anthroish!I would have been convinced without a doubt if you claimed that it is Anthro.

And just blah~ about the flat tire.. after my flat tire incident.. I am super careful of any object on the road plus daily anxiety I have to go thru..

Hope your new tires will last forever!!! hh

the collar of this dress has a very Chinese feel to it. Love the idea making the necklace a bracelet, brilliant!

I LOVE that dress! Its so awesome on its own, and its from your mom, and its a color with a purpose today! And the sweater is super cute too! Fabulous tights as well! That's a bummer about the tires though, hope the new ones work out better! I'm glad your attempt at heels worked out so well today, that antibiotic is crazy stuff!

LOVE the zebras! I hope the cardi lasts a good long time. Funny story: apparently my BF used to have an obsession with zebras when he was a toddler. But he couldn't say "zebra," so he would just point and say "yum, yum, yum." Guess he thought they looked good enough to eat.

@Cindi IKR? My mom wore some very cute trendy clothes for 'back in the day.' Nowadays, not so much :)

@Inkmark yeah I noticed that several of my mom's old dresses have more of that mandarin collar style.

@Jamie that's pretty frickin' cute! lol, it's adorable that his phrase for things he liked was "yum yum"
