Amazon OOTD

From the title where you expecting tropical themed clothing?

Nope! Just a dress I ordered from amazon.com. I found this dress while looking for a new wool coat. Since Amazon is now offering free shipping and free returns on many of their clothing items, I decided to take the plunge to find a new coat there. Well, the coat I ordered didn't fit, and in case you're wondering, it was a slight hassle returning the coat. When I first went through their online return process, they were going to charge me for return shipping. But after emailing customer service I was provided with a link to a free shipping label. Has anyone else taken advantage of Amazon's free return policy with clothing? And has it gone through without a hitch? I'm hoping this was just a fluke.

Anyway, while looking for a coat, I found this strapless nautical dress on sale for $15 (down from $58). The one review said it ran super small, and it was in juniors sizing, so I ordered a large.

The waist was a bit big, so of course, I belted it! :) I bought the dress with the intention of layering tees underneath it. But, I'm still not sure about it. What do y'all think?

Of course I layered on a jean jacket to keep out the chill from our foggy Seattle morning

OOTD Specs
Have & Have Nautical Tailored Fitted Banded Waist Pencil Dress Navy Sz L ($15)
West & Vine white tuxedo shirt sz M ($20)
dark grey tights ($7)
H&M blue elastic belt ($12?)
Merona Madalena Suede Ballet Flats - Mustard (NWT at Goodwill $7.50)

In other amazon-related news.... AmazonFresh (Amazon's local grocery delivery service) contacted me to use my yelp review in an ad campaign. Of course!! I love AmazonFresh! However, I didn't originally realize they were going to use my yelp profile pic. As you might guess, I'm acting pretty silly in my profile pic. But ya know, I often look pretty silly here on the blog too, so I guess what's the difference? see, I was silly this morning:

btw, as luck would have it, my current yelp profile pic has me wearing an Anthropologie shirt! (I'm not sure the name of this shirt):

The full picture is of me with my best friend, Clara. Right before this photo was taken, I had the teensiest bit of a mojito... hence the slight Asian glow :)

That's awesome that you were contacted by Amazon Fresh! :) I've heard good things about it too and Chris' good friend uses them. They don't deliver where we live though. I believe you guys live really close to them too...they live near Madison Park as well. :) Love your outfit today!!! That dress fit so well!

Lori, I got ripped off - i was expecting a tropical theme when i clicked onto this post! hehe
I can't believe it - that dress is just $15??! With the belt, i can't tell that it's too big. The layering works pretty good on you, but I'm too afraid to try it myself.
How funny are you in that Yelp profile pic! too funny lori! if that glass is full of cocktail shrimp, i want!
Cheers
Jen

What a great dress, and the price can't be beat! And it looks like it came with that belt! I would be so tempted to order that dress as well, but if you're in a junior's large, I think I'll be sized out. Too bad it doesn't come in an XL!

And those yellow shoes are perfect --I always think of navy and yellow being a perfect nautical color!

Super cute! I love that shirt actually, the dress is really cool too, and those mustard flats are just the perfect color! And a good deal is always awesome! I'm always a fan of belts! I've ordered lots of books, and some shoes from Amazon before, but I've never tried their returns (free or not). That's really cool that Amazon wants to use your review too, neat! :)

while I buy almost everything from grocery to book, I can't say I have try amazon clothing though. I only buy amazon if i know it is something i won't return. While I thought Anthropologie sizing is difficult to buy online, I cannot imagine how it will be with Amazon while there are probably millions of vendor out there.

@Cindi AmazonFresh is amazing! I'm so grateful to have them in my area. We rarely have the time to go to a grocery store anymore, so it's really a life saver!

@vintageglammz mm... cocktail shrimp! It was actually full of ceviche, tho. But, now I totes want some shrimp.

@Jamie It's quite possible the large would fit you since there's some stretch in the dress :)

@LilMissSeamstress o my Asian glow can get much worse than this! I really have very little tolerance!

@Matt I think this is the first time I've returned something to Amazon too! Probably because the coat was too pricey not to return since it didn't fit. hehe.

@Inkmark Anthro sizing has gotten a lot easier for me to buy online since following fashion bloggers! :)

@Jessica Thanks!
